The Latvian State Chancellery has announced an open competition for two council member positions at the Public Utilities Commission (SPRK), as stated in an official notice in the "Latvijas Vēstnesis". The advertised salary for these positions is set at 7000 euros per month before taxes, highlighting the government’s commitment to attract qualified candidates. Applications for the positions are invited until March 9, 2026.

Candidates are required to hold at least a master's degree or an equivalent qualification, alongside a minimum of five years of administrative work experience in organizational leadership or as a senior manager in one of the regulated sectors. Furthermore, applicants must demonstrate knowledge of public service regulatory issues, and possess insights into the legislation governing these sectors, as well as competencies in financial/investment management, accounting, and legal matters. Proficiency in Latvian at the C1 level and fluency in at least two foreign languages, including English at the B2 level, are also prerequisites for applicants.

The selection process will involve several stages, with the third stage being a public presentation of the candidates.
