Capital Ship Management Corp. has welcomed the newly constructed VLCC tanker M/T 'Aristotelis II,' noted for its advanced ecological features and fuel efficiency.
Capital Ship Management Corp., under the ownership of Evangelos Marinakis, has expanded its maritime fleet with the addition of M/T 'Aristotelis II,' a newly built very large crude carrier (VLCC) with a deadweight tonnage of 307,000. Constructed at Hengli Heavy Industries in China, this tanker is emblematic of the company’s commitment to modernizing its fleet while adhering to progressive environmental standards. The vessel boasts the ECO LR environmental certification, ensuring that it meets or exceeds current international regulations concerning ecological impact.
Incorporating a multitude of energy-efficient technologies, such as advanced hydrodynamic systems, the 'Aristotelis II' is designed to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions significantly. Its construction reflects the growing trend within the maritime industry to integrate sustainability into operations. Additionally, the tanker’s fuel gas-ready GR(NG,A) designation signals its capability for future conversion to liquefied natural gas (LNG) combustion, aligning with anticipated regulations on decarbonization.
The introduction of such ships into the market not only has implications for Capital Ship Management’s operational strategy but also positions the company as a leader in promoting ecological responsibility in shipping. As the pressures for more stringent environmental compliance increase, investments in high-standard, environmentally friendly vessels like 'Aristotelis II' are critical for long-term sustainability in the industry.
