Sebastião Theóphifilo de Souza, an 81-year-old man, tragically died on Monday, October 16, when a public transport bus in Patos de Minas, located in the Alto Paranaíba region of Brazil, ran over him. Witnesses reported that as he was boarding the bus, its central doors closed unexpectedly while he was still on the last step, causing him to lose his balance. His foot became trapped in the door, leading him to fall onto the roadway just as the bus began to move.

The incident was witnessed by other passengers, including Sebastião's wife, who was waiting for him outside the bus. Despite immediate cries from passengers to alert the driver, the vehicle continued to move, and Sébastião was struck by the rear wheel of the bus upon falling. Emergency rescue teams were called to the scene, but sadly, the elderly man succumbed to his injuries shortly after the accident.
