The Greek Police issued a statement in response to televised reports and public comments suggesting an overall perception of insecurity in Agios Anargyros. In efforts to clarify the situation, the General Police Directorate of Attica noted a significant downward trend in key crime indicators. Specifically, the number of vehicle thefts and residential break-ins reported from 2024 to 2025 has decreased by 11.6% and 8.6%, respectively, indicating a more favorable security environment compared to the same period in previous years.
This reduction in crime rates reflects a concerted and systematic police presence in the region, countering the notion of a generalized insecurity. Ongoing operations include a daily deployment of police vehicles from both the Western Attica Police Directorate and Immediate Action Units, along with six DIAS teams, aimed at ensuring visible and effective policing in the community.
