We will soon see snow and stronger winds again: forecasters announce where the snowflakes will fall

Weather forecasts indicate that Lithuania will experience snow and stronger winds in the coming days, particularly on Wednesday when a cyclone is expected to bring significant snowfall to the country.

Weather forecasts for Lithuania indicate that snow and stronger winds are on the way, especially with the arrival of a cyclone on Wednesday. Although no significant snowfall is anticipated today, there might be a few isolated snowflakes, primarily in the southwestern regions during the late evening, alongside a strong easterly and southeastern wind. Today's temperatures are expected to range between -8 and -13 degrees Celsius, with the coldest weather expected in the western areas due to wind-driven snow drifts.

The arrival of the cyclone on Wednesday will bring more extensive cloud cover across the country, with snow forecasted to arrive overnight. Most regions will see snow accumulation by the morning, particularly in the west, while the eastern areas may remain dry. The night temperatures will drop to between -10 and -15 degrees Celsius, with colder spots reaching up to -20 degrees Celsius in areas that remain clear longer.

Throughout Wednesday, thick clouds will persist with limited chances for clearer skies in the eastern regions. Snowfall will increase later in the day across a greater part of the country, but overall snow amounts are expected to be modest. A noticeable southeast wind will also contribute to the chill, blowing drifts of snow in some locations, making for a wintry feel as the weather changes.
