ENFIA: When will the assessments come out, when do we pay the first installment
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue in Greece is preparing to post the tax assessments for property owners in March, with the first installment due by the end of the month.
In Greece, property owners are nearing the deadline to apply for a reduction on their ENFIA property tax by declaring their properties insured against natural disasters. This reduction can be as high as 20%, and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has announced that it is preparing to release new assessments for the ENFIA for 2025 by March. The online application for declaring property details (E9) will be closed shortly to finalize the current assessments.
The ENFIA tax assessments will affect approximately 7 million property owners, and the payment plan will allow for a total of 12 equal monthly installments. The first payment must be made by the end of March, continuing monthly until February 2027. This structure aims to ease the financial burden on property owners during the current economic climate.
As Greece grapples with financial challenges, including high inflation and recovery from the pandemic, the timing and implementation of taxes such as ENFIA are critical. The authority's effort to streamline the assessment process and offer potential reductions reflects a response to citizens' financial strains, encouraging timely reporting and compliance with property declarations, especially for those who proactively secure their properties against unforeseen disasters.
