ENFIA: How many installments can you pay off the tax - What property owners need to know
The countdown has begun for the new ENFIA tax assessments, set to be published soon, affecting 7.3 million property owners in Greece.
The new wave of ENFIA tax assessments is about to be released, with processes concluding shortly for approximately 7.3 million property properties in Greece. The total expected collection from these properties is nearly 2.3 billion euros, impacting a significant number of homeowners across the country. These assessments will determine the tax owed based on factors such as property value, insurance status, and the financial conditions of the property owner.
Property owners have the option to settle their ENFIA tax either as a lump sum or in 12 monthly installments, starting from the end of March and running until February 2027 for the final payment. This flexibility is crucial for many homeowners, especially as it allows them to manage their finances over an extended period. The impending assessments will affect property owners differently depending on their financial situations, particularly for those whose properties are insured or who live in smaller communities.
Additionally, this year marks the activation of a reduction in ENFIA for thousands of homeowners residing in settlements with populations of up to 1,500 or 1,700 in certain border areas. This measure highlights the government's approach to easing the tax burden on less populated regions, suggesting an awareness of regional economic disparities and the need for supportive fiscal policies. As the deadline nears for the tax payments, property owners are urged to prepare accordingly to avoid any penalties or complications with their tax obligations.
