Accident with three cars on BR-156 in Amapá leaves seven injured

Seven people were injured in a three-car accident on BR-156 in Amapá, Brazil, with one driver being arrested for DUI.

A serious accident occurred on Saturday night along BR-156 in Amapá, Brazil, involving three vehicles and resulting in seven individuals sustaining injuries. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) reported that the vehicles collided multiple times, with the chain of events beginning with a frontal crash that resulted in one vehicle being involved in a lateral collision. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in this incident.

Among the injured, there were three drivers and four passengers, all of whom were promptly transported to the Emergency Hospital by the Fire Department. Authorities identified that one of the drivers involved in the accident was under the influence of alcohol, as indicated by a breathalyzer test showing a blood alcohol concentration of 0.86 mg/L, which is categorized as a traffic offense. After receiving medical care, this individual was taken into custody at the Integrated Operations Center for Public Safety (Ciosp) in Pacoval.

The PRF indicated that the scene was monitored, with videos taken by witnesses documenting the damaged vehicles at the side of the highway. BR-156 was temporarily closed during the emergency response activity. While the cause of the accident is under investigation, the authorities have already completed the necessary forensic analysis to gather more information about the incident.
