Four people die after collision between cars on a stretch of GO-156

Four people have died following a collision between two cars on GO-156 in Brazil, with additional injuries reported.

On Sunday morning, four individuals tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision between two passenger cars on GO-156, located between the municipalities of Nazário and Palmeiras de Goiás in western Brazil. According to initial reports from the Goiás Fire Department, all four victims were trapped in the wreckage of the vehicles, highlighting the severity of the accident. Emergency responders worked to free the victims, but unfortunately, the impact was fatal for those inside one of the cars.

In addition to the fatalities, five other individuals sustained injuries in the crash. Among the injured, a 21-year-old male was conscious but exhibited signs of suspected cranial trauma. A 26-year-old individual, also conscious and oriented, suffered from moderate cranial trauma, a leg fracture, and complained of chest pain. Both were transported to the Municipal Hospital of Nazário for urgent medical care. Other injured parties were cared for by the Mobile Emergency Care Service and taken to the Regional Hospital of São Luís de Montes Belos, although details regarding their condition were not disclosed.

Accidents like this often raise concerns about road safety in the region, prompting calls for increased vigilance on highways. The local authorities, along with emergency services, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause and any possible contributing factors.
