Two henchmen of Himanshu Bhau gang arrested in Delhi, illegal arms supply network exposed
Delhi police arrested two members of the Himanshu Bhau gang, uncovering a major illegal arms supply network.
In a significant crackdown against organized crime, Delhi police have apprehended two associates of the notorious Himanshu Bhau gang following a gunfight in Outer Delhi. The police claim this operation has led to the exposure of a substantial illegal arms supply network. The identified suspects, Vicky alias Mowgli and Chander Bhan, have a criminal history involving multiple cases of murder and extortion, with Vicky having a bounty of ₹5,000 on his head issued by Haryana police owing to his involvement in several homicide cases.
The police action was initiated based on intelligence reports suggesting that a gang was conspiring to commit a major crime in Delhi. Consequently, on the night of January 22 and 23, officers set up a blockade on the Hirankudna-Dichaun Kalan road beneath the UER-II flyover, leading to the confrontation. As law enforcement approached, the suspects attempted to flee, resulting in a chase where gunfire erupted. During the altercation, Vicky fired two rounds, one of which struck a head constable's bulletproof vest, fortunately preventing serious injury to the officer.
This operation underscores the Delhi police's relentless efforts to combat organized crime and dismantle illegal arms networks operating within the city. The arrest not only brings two dangerous individuals off the streets but also raises awareness about the broader implications of gang-related activities, such as the trafficking of illegal weapons, which contributes to violence and crime in urban areas. The ongoing investigation is expected to further unravel the extent of the gang's operations and their connections within the criminal underworld.
