Delhi Police and Nandu Gang Encounter, Two Shooters Arrested
Delhi police arrested two shooters associated with the notorious Nandu gang after an encounter in Dwarka, following a shooting incident at a businessman’s office.
In the early hours of Sunday, the Dwarka area of Delhi became a scene of gunfire as police engaged in an encounter with members of the Nandu gang, resulting in the arrest of two shooters. The arrested individuals, identified as 23-year-olds Bharat and Veeraj, are accused of firing at a businessman’s office as part of a land dispute, further complicating the already tense situation surrounding land dealings in the region.
Authorities revealed that Bharat had recently been released from Tihar Jail on January 21 and had maintained contact with gangster Vicky Sanyasi during his incarceration. After his release, he reportedly began engaging in extortion and shooting incidents related to ongoing land disputes in the Uttam Nagar area, following instructions from Sanyasi, a known associate of the Nandu gang. This information raises concerns about the networking of criminal elements even within correctional facilities.
The police had been searching for the accused following the shooting at the businessman’s office, which led to the registration of a FIR on February 20. On Sunday at 2:10 AM, information surfaced about the accused heading towards Qutub Vihar. When the police attempted to stop a white scooter with a damaged license plate, the suspects tried to flee, escalating the situation and leading to the encounters that unfolded shortly thereafter.
