Women subjected to intimate exams by fake doctor report lack of training and rudeness

Women in Brazil have come forward with complaints about a fake doctor who performed intimate exams, alleging poor treatment and unruly behavior.

Wellington Augusto Mazini Silva, an entrepreneur who falsely posed as a doctor, has been arrested for practicing medicine illegally in Cananéia, São Paulo. Women who had been treated by him reported that he lacked the necessary skills to operate medical equipment and disregarded basic medical procedures. Many described his demeanor as rude and disrespectful during their examinations. The legal consequences of his actions are severe, as he faces both civil and criminal lawsuits regarding his fraudulent practices.

Mazini's arrest occurred on January 7, when he used the medical registration (CRM) of a legitimate physician, who was his business partner in a clinic in São Paulo, to carry out exams at a hospital in Cananéia. He reportedly claimed that he was following the orders of the licensed doctor and would receive BRL 2,000 for his services. Following these events, the São Paulo Regional Medical Council initiated an investigation into the matter, emphasizing the serious nature of his offenses in the medical field.

The troubling accounts from the five women who filed for BRL 250,000 in damages reveal the overall distress and discomfort caused by the imposter's malpractice. Their representative, lawyer Bruno Ribeiro de Almeida, pointed out that the patients' experiences were not only alarming but also detrimental to their wellbeing. This case highlights the critical need for stringent enforcement of medical regulations to protect patients from fraud and malpractice, ensuring that only qualified professionals provide medical care in Brazil.
