After the two days of Gold Series parades, Comlurb, the waste management company in Rio de Janeiro, reported collecting a staggering 67 tons of garbage from Sapucaí. This was part of their ongoing efforts during the Carnival season, which have seen a total of 462.2 tons of waste removed throughout the city since the pre-Carnival period. The sanitation efforts not only targeted the parades but also included street blocks and popular balls, spanning a wide reach across Rio.
