The city of Aracaju will experience significant traffic changes from February 15 to 17 as the Bloco das Mariposas carnival event takes place. According to the Superintendence of Municipal Transport and Transit (SMTT), the festivities will begin on Sunday and Monday with scheduled performances at a fixed stage starting at 5 PM and ending at 1 AM, necessitating partial road closures on Avenida Santa Gleide. On Tuesday, February 17, the main event of the carnival will occur with the so-called 'arrastão', starting at 10 AM. Attendees will begin their gathering on Avenida Santa Gleide, with the electric trio starting at 11 AM and the festivities expected to conclude around 4 PM. This lively procession will travel through several routes including Avenida Maranhão and Avenida Matadouro, symbolizing a blend of cultural celebration and public participation.

Authorities recommend alternative routes for drivers, including Avenida Chanceler Osvaldo Aranha and Avenida Centenário, to mitigate potential traffic congestion.
