Carnival in Aracaju: Traffic Will Be Altered for the Rasgadinho Block

Traffic alterations will occur in central Aracaju for the Rasgadinho Block event from February 13 to 17.

Traffic adjustments are set for the central area of Aracaju from February 13 to 17 to facilitate the Rasgadinho Block, a popular carnival event. According to the Municipal Superintendence of Transport and Traffic (SMTT), street closures will commence daily at 1 PM on Avenida Pedro Calazans, as well as Boquim and Estância streets. The block's route includes a procession starting on Avenida Pedro Calazans, proceeding through the streets Estância and Gararu, and culminating at Praça da Bandeira where shows will be held.

Additionally, the SMTT has announced the temporary closure of Itaporanga Street to Avenida Barão de Maruim from 7 PM to 2 AM during the event. This operational plan is designed to manage the crowd and ensure safety throughout the festivities, aligning with the cultural significance of the carnival in Brazilian society. Also, three fixed stages will be set up along the route, enhancing the entertainment offerings for attendees and drawing both locals and tourists to experience the celebrations.

This adjustment in traffic is a part of broader efforts to accommodate large gatherings during the carnival season, which is known for its vibrant parades and music, making it a vital cultural event for residents and visitors. Local authorities are keen on ensuring that both vehicular and pedestrian movements are safe and effective during this time, highlighting the importance of the Rasgadinho Block in the local carnival calendar.
