A serious accident on the GO-164 highway near Santa Helena de Goiás led to the deaths of four individuals, all family members of the local Secretary of Infrastructure and Housing, Danillo Barros. The accident occurred when their pickup truck collided with the rear of a truck stranded in the middle of the road due to a fuel issue. The victims of the crash have been identified as Adair do Nascimento Freitas Barros (the secretary's mother), André Luis Souza Barros (the secretary's father), Maria Madalena Barros da Cruz (the secretary's aunt), and Hilda de Souza Barros (the secretary's grandmother). A second aunt, Eleusa Maria Barros de Sá, survived the crash and was taken to a local hospital with severe but stable injuries, including a mild traumatic brain injury.

Local officials, including the municipal Secretary of Resources and Agreements, Erick Itacarambi, have expressed their condolences and emphasized the need for improved traffic safety measures to prevent similar tragedies.
