Vaida Aleknavičienė: The Plan for the Culture Season Program in Germany – March

Lithuania plans to unveil its culture season program in Germany, with the working group presenting the concept in early March, anticipating a launch in 2027 with an annual budget of 1 million euros.

The Lithuanian Minister of Culture, Vaida Aleknavičienė, announced that a refreshed task force is actively developing a program for a culture season in Germany, which will be presented in early March. The group is currently determining the scope of the program, including which German cities and regions will be included and the precise start date. Although the launch year is set for 2027, specific details remain uncertain.

Aleknavičienė highlighted that the cultural program is expected to cost about 1 million euros annually. The budget allocations have been tentatively set at one million euros for both 2027 and 2028. However, the minister pointed out that the final cost will depend on available funding, suggesting that the budget might fluctuate based on financial possibilities.

The significance of the culture season project has been underscored by the Lithuanian Parliament's Culture Committee and the Presidential Office. In the meantime, Lithuania is also engaged in cultural exchanges with Italy, suggesting a broader initiative aimed at enhancing Lithuania's cultural presence abroad.
