The ministry allocates funds, the cultural passport will be reactivated and will increase to 14 euros per student

The Lithuanian Ministry has increased funding for the Cultural Passport program, allowing students greater access to cultural activities.

The Lithuanian Cultural Passport program, which had been inactive since the start of the year, will be reactivated following a funding increase from the Ministry of Culture. This year's budget has grown to €5.196 million, which represents an increase of €1.196 million from the previous year. The amount allocated to each student has also risen from €11 to €14, making cultural activities more accessible to school children.

Cultural Minister Vaida Aleknavičienė highlighted the program's success in allowing students to attend various cultural events, such as plays, concerts, and exhibitions, funded by state resources. She emphasized that the government is committed to expanding both the funding and the accessibility of services provided through this initiative. Additionally, starting this fall, preschool-age children will also be able to benefit from the Cultural Passport program, further expanding its reach.

Currently, nearly 350,000 students from grades 1 to 12 are beneficiaries of the program, and an additional 24,000 children studying in preschool will join them in September. This expansion reflects the government's recognition of the importance of cultural education in youth development and aims to enrich the cultural experiences available to children across the country.
