Carnival of Tepoztlán, Morelos begins: authorities deploy more than 300 personnel
The traditional Carnival in the Magical Town of Tepoztlán commenced with participation from parades and hundreds of visitors, as municipal authorities implemented a special security operation involving over 300 police personnel.
The Carnival in Tepoztlán, Morelos, officially kicked off, bringing together lively comparsas, chinelos, and a crowd of visitors. To ensure safety, local authorities organized a robust security operation that includes over 300 law enforcement officials, drones for surveillance, and a central command post aimed at real-time monitoring of the festivities. This year’s celebration highlights not only the region's vibrant culture but also the significant logistical planning necessary to host such an event with a large influx of attendees.
Perseo Quiroz Rendón, the mayor of Tepoztlán, emphasized the comprehensive nature of the security measures in place. The operation encompasses municipal and state police, traffic units, emergency response teams, military personnel, and private security, all dedicated to protecting both residents and tourists alike. The initiative includes 15 security checkpoints at key access points to the town, along with foot patrols in areas of high public concentration, ensuring a visible law enforcement presence throughout the festivities.
