Carnival in western São Paulo is expected to gather more than 200,000 people; police provide security measures

The Military Police estimate that over 200,000 people will participate in carnival events in the Presidente Prudente region of São Paulo, with significant police presence and strategic operations planned for safety.

The Military Police of São Paulo have projected that over 200,000 people are expected to take part in various carnival events across the Presidente Prudente region from Saturday, February 14, to Wednesday, February 18. This festive period is expected to draw an average of 44,000 revelers daily, leading to the implementation of extensive security measures. Approximately 800 police officers and 370 vehicles will be deployed each day to ensure public safety during this lively event.

Key areas of focus for police operations include the Orla Fluvial of Presidente Epitácio and the municipality of Rosana, where an estimated crowd of nearly 10,000 people is anticipated throughout the festival. The Military Police have committed to conducting alternating and strategic operations designed to enhance safety, with specific measures targeting the prevention of drug trafficking, theft of mobile phones and vehicles, and enforcement of sobriety checks.
