Driver flees after crashing car with over 240 kg of drugs in MS; watch video

An unidentified driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a parked car in Ponta Porã, Brazil, on Friday, resulting in the discovery of 241 kilograms of drugs inside. Security camera footage from a local mechanic recorded the incident, including the driver's subsequent escape. Police found various packages resembling marijuana, which were tightly wrapped and packed in the car.

The military police, along with the municipal guard's traffic team, swiftly responded to the scene, seizing the car and transporting it to the First Civil Police Station. After weighing the drugs at the station, authorities confirmed that 241 kilograms of marijuana were seized, with 218 kilograms in pressed blocks and 23 kilograms classified as skunk, a more potent strain of the drug. The car was also confiscated as part of the investigation.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to identify and locate the driver responsible for the crash and drug possession. The incident has raised concerns about drug trafficking in the region of Ponta Porã, highlighting the challenges law enforcement faces in combating narcotics in border areas.
