The Transport Administration opens the official ice road to Kihnu on Saturday
The Transport Administration of Estonia will officially open the ice road to Kihnu, allowing vehicles weighing up to 2.5 tons to travel on it until sunset.
Due to improved weather conditions, the Transport Administration of Estonia, in collaboration with its partners, is set to open the second official ice road of the year to Kihnu on Saturday. This ice road will be available for vehicles with a maximum mass of 2.5 tons starting at 12 PM. Additionally, the previously utilized route between Hiiumaa and Saaremaa will also be reopened by no later than 3 PM on the same day. The ice road leading to Kihnu will extend a total of 12 kilometers and, like the Hiiumaa-Saaremaa route, will only be open to traffic during daylight hours from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
