TS-LKD Council to Meet: Discuss Current Issues and Preparation for Local Elections

The TS-LKD Council in Lithuania will convene to discuss current political issues and prepare for next year's local elections.

The TS-LKD (Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats) party council is set to meet to discuss various important topics including preparations for the upcoming local elections expected next year. As highlighted by party spokesperson Raminta Keršytė, the council will also confirm the composition of the central election headquarters. This meeting is part of the party's regular schedule, with councils typically convening at least once every quarter to review political developments.

During this upcoming meeting, the council will also deliberate on and adopt a resolution aimed at strengthening Lithuania's defense capabilities and ensuring the country's readiness to defend itself. This follows a tradition of addressing pressing political matters, as observed in previous meetings, where topics such as countering misinformation and discussions on potential peace plans involving Ukraine were tabled.

The TS-LKD party, currently in opposition, ranks second in Lithuania in terms of membership size, boasting 11,200 active members. With 28 mandates in the Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament), the party aims to maintain its influence and prepare strategically for the upcoming local elections, highlighting the importance of unity and proactive engagement in the political landscape.
