Cuiabá has free bus tickets for 5 days during Carnival

Cuiabá will offer free public transport from February 13 to February 17 for Carnival, allowing residents and visitors to travel without fare during this festive period.

The city of Cuiabá has announced a decree that enables free public transportation in the city during the Carnival festivities, lasting from Friday, February 13, to Tuesday, February 17. According to the local government, this initiative aligns with the municipal holiday calendar and aims to facilitate transportation for the increased number of people attending cultural, religious, and family events during the holiday.

The decree was signed by Mayor Abilio Brunini and specifies that buses will be free to use from 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM each day. This plan builds on the city's existing zero-fare policy for public transportation on Sundays, extending the fare-free access to five consecutive days for users. Officials from the Municipal Secretary of Urban Mobility (Semob) will oversee the implementation of this initiative, ensuring that public transit services meet the community's needs during the extended holiday period.

This measure not only aims to promote greater participation in local Carnival events by removing transportation costs but also serves as an important step towards enhancing urban mobility and accessibility in Cuiabá. It reflects the city government's commitment to supporting residents and tourists alike, making it easier for everyone to enjoy the rich cultural offerings available throughout Carnival.
