Carnival: DF has free transport from Saturday (14) to Tuesday (17)
Residents and visitors in the Federal District can enjoy free public transport services during the Carnival period from February 14 to February 17.
During the Carnival festivities, the Federal District (DF) in Brazil will offer free public transportation services from 0:00 on Saturday, February 14, until 23:59 on Tuesday, February 17. This initiative allows those wishing to participate in Carnival block parties or explore the area to do so without the burden of transportation fees. In addition, the transportation fleet will be bolstered with 110 extra buses to meet increased demand, particularly during peak dispersal times following event activities.
The Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy (Secec-DF) has announced that a variety of Carnival events will take place across several administrative regions of the DF, promoting community involvement and wider access to street celebrations. The expansion of events aims to enhance the festive atmosphere and encourage more residents and visitors to partake in the local cultural activities. The comprehensive schedule allows people to plan their outings accordingly.
Public transport services will revert to normal operations after Carnival on Wednesday, February 18. There will be additional transportation services between 11:00 and 13:00 to accommodate the influx of workers heading to local and federal government offices reopening that day. This temporary measure reflects the local government's commitment to facilitating access to cultural events while ensuring that residents and visitors can return to their daily routines seamlessly after the festivities end.
