The traffic scheme for the 'Cafuçu' block, taking place in João Pessoa on Friday, has been announced by local authorities, highlighting changes for vehicles and public transportation.
The traffic scheme for the 'Cafuçu' block, which is a popular carnival event in João Pessoa, has been publicly shared by the city's Executive Superintendency of Urban Mobility (Semob-JP). Beginning at 5 PM on Friday, traffic agents will implement roadblocks along key areas where revelers will gather, including notable locations like Praça João Pessoa, Praça 1817, and other surrounding streets. This is a part of the city's efforts to manage large crowds and ensure safety during the carnival festivities.
In addition to measures for pedestrian flow, provisions have been made for taxi services. Taxis will have designated parking spaces along Avenida Barão do Abiaí, Parque Solon de Lucena, and Praça 1817, ensuring availability for those using this form of public transport. These efforts are aimed at facilitating accessibility and safety for both residents and visitors attending the event, as traffic is expected to be heavily affected due to the influx of participants.
Furthermore, public transportation will see significant enhancements, with 27 bus lines operating on extended schedules to accommodate increased demand. An additional 10 buses will be deployed from 11 PM onwards to help ensure that individuals can safely return home after the festivities. These measures reflect the city's commitment to effective traffic management and support for its citizens during festivities, thus enabling a safer and more enjoyable carnival experience.
