See the traffic scheme for the Muriçoquinhas block parade at Via Folia 2026, in João Pessoa
A special traffic and public transport scheme has been established for the Muriçoquinhas block parade in João Pessoa, which will feature attractions and involve street closures.
In preparation for the Muriçoquinhas block parade, part of the Via Folia festivities in João Pessoa, a dedicated traffic and public transit plan has been implemented to accommodate the expected large crowds. The parade, taking place on the Epitácio Pessoa Avenue, demands enhanced bus services and roadblocks to ensure safety for the participants and attendees alike. Various musical attractions, including popular acts like Mundo Bita and A Barca Maluka, will entertain the crowds throughout the event.
Starting from 8 AM, mobility agents will be stationed along Epitácio Pessoa Avenue to manage the positioning of the trios elétricos, which are the iconic sound trucks integral to Brazilian carnival celebrations. The concentration spot for the parade will be on Epitácio Pessoa at the intersection with Rua Prefeito José Leite in the Miramar neighborhood. With an increase in the number of revelers expected, traffic restrictions will commence at 4 PM to ease the influx of vehicles, ensuring a smooth flow and the safety of participants.
The Muriçoquinhas block is scheduled to commence its parade at 5:30 PM and will head towards the Largo de Tambaú, with 60 mobility agents deployed to oversee traffic control and public safety during the event. This initiative reflects the city's comprehensive approach to managing large public festivals, aiming to enhance both user experience and safety during the carnival season.
