The Carnival Tradition 2026 in João Pessoa is set to begin on Saturday, February 14, with significant alterations to traffic and public transportation around the Avenida Duarte da Silveira to facilitate the festivities. The Superintendency of Urban Mobility of João Pessoa (Semob-JP) has confirmed that the special traffic arrangements will remain in effect until Tuesday, February 17, coinciding with the parade days for carnival groups in the city. A total of 35 mobility agents have been assigned to oversee the event's surrounding area, communicating effectively with the public to navigate through the temporary changes in the roadways.

As of 4 PM on Saturday, key road sections will be closed to traffic, including the stretch from Rua Clemente Rosas in the Torre neighborhood through Avenida Ministro José Américo de Almeida (Beira Rio), and onto Avenida Duarte da Silveira, which is directly in front of the DER building, extending towards Avenida Maximiano Figueiredo.
