Truck driver arrested with 10 kg of cocaine paste in vehicle cabin in the interior of SP

A truck driver was arrested for transporting over 10 kg of cocaine paste in São Paulo state during a police operation.

A truck driver, aged 39, was apprehended while transporting more than 10 kg of cocaine paste after being stopped on the Raposo Tavares Highway (SP-270) in Rancharia, São Paulo, on the night of November 11. The arrest took place around 10:40 PM during the "Impact Operation," which is part of a collaborative effort between highway police and the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco-SP). Officers inspected a tractor-trailer and discovered a bag containing ten bricks of cocaine paste totaling approximately 10.27 kg of the illicit substance.

The driver, who resides in Dourados and has no prior criminal record, was taken into custody on the scene. In addition to the cocaine, the police also seized the vehicles involved in the transportation along with two mobile phones. This operation underscores ongoing efforts by Brazilian law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, particularly in regions known for high drug transit.

This incident highlights the persistent challenge of drug transportation in Brazil, where organized crime networks often utilize commercial vehicles for trafficking illegal substances across state lines. Authorities are intensifying their focus on major transportation routes as part of broader strategies to dismantle these criminal enterprises and reduce drug-related violence in the country.
