The bridge linking Guaratuba and Matinhos in Brazil is nearing completion as its stressed section has progressed significantly, anticipated to enhance local transportation.

The construction of the bridge connecting Guaratuba and Matinhos has reached its final phase, with the stressed section making crucial advancements. This part of the bridge includes the cables and pylons that are essential for its stability, with 284 out of the planned 320 meters completed, marking it as the most complex portion of the project according to government sources.

The bridge is designed to stretch 1,240 meters and will feature four traffic lanes, a bike lane, walkways, and roadway lighting. Its primary aim is to eliminate reliance on ferry services for transportation, promoting faster and more integrated access along the Paraná coastline. The construction began in October 2023, with the state government estimating a completion date in April 2026.

Accompanying infrastructure improvements are also underway, which will include bike paths, roundabouts, highways, traffic divisions, pedestrian areas, and landscaping for better accessibility around the bridge. The Department of Highways of Paraná (DER-PR) has indicated that the connection between the pre-molded section and the stressed section is expected to be finalized by February of this year, signifying further progress towards the bridge's eventual completion.
