Seoul National University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Yonsei University, organized the 2025 ST-Y RISE Fair to showcase the achievements of their joint RISE initiative and to strengthen local industry-academic partnerships.
Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech), led by President Kim Dong-hwan, hosted the 2025 ST-Y RISE Fair on November 11 in collaboration with Yonsei University's RISE-Y project team. The event aimed to summarize the outcomes of the first year of the RISE (Regional Innovation Center) project and share the successes of the university-industry cooperation ecosystem fostered between SeoulTech and Yonsei University. Over 130 attendees, including university professors, researchers, related businesses, and students, participated in the fair, signaling a strong commitment to regional innovation.
The fair served as an important milestone in marking the transition from the existing LINC 3.0 project to a successful implementation of RISE, focusing on collaboration between the two prestigious universities. It underscored the significance of breaking down barriers between institutions and promoting advancements in key sectors such as AI and biotechnology. The initiative aims not only to foster the creation of intellectual property but also to cultivate talent in these emerging fields.
During the event, various achievements were showcased across three main areas: joint technology development projects, corporate collaboration centers, and capstone design initiatives. President Kim Dong-hwan emphasized the event as a strategic pivot for SeoulTech to position itself as a core engine for innovation within the local community. Both he and RISE project team leader Kim Dong-ho expressed their commitment to enhancing a sustainable and practical university-industry cooperation model that connects academia, businesses, and the community toward future successes.
