Seoul National University of Science and Technology's RISE Project Group Successfully Concludes the 2025 AI-Semiconductor Boot Camp
The Seoul National University of Science and Technology successfully held the 2025 AI-Semiconductor Boot Camp from January 19 to 21, 2026, focusing on practical training in semiconductor technology.
The Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) hosted the 2025 AI-Semiconductor Boot Camp from January 19 to 21, 2026, aimed at providing practical training in semiconductor technology. This initiative was part of the Seoul RISE project, which is designed to enhance cooperation and sharing between Seoul and provincial universities. The camp saw participation from consortium universities including National Kimpo University of Science and Technology, National Hanbat University, and Ajou University, and was structured to provide both theoretical and practical education.
The program included an extensive curriculum covering semiconductor fundamentals, such as MOSFET device understanding, photolithography, etching, and deposition processes. Notably, hands-on training was conducted in a cleanroom at Seoul Technopark, allowing students to experience a real industrial environment. Participating students expressed high satisfaction with the program, appreciating the comprehensive learning that spanned from basic theories to the latest industry trends and future prospects in the semiconductor field.
Additionally, the boot camp is part of the broader initiative to connect students from different universities with the AI-semiconductor industry, offering opportunities for a collaborative micro-degree aimed at enhancing expertise. As one student remarked on their experience, the opportunity to engage in practical semiconductor roles was very fulfilling, highlighting a desire for such camps to continue, thereby extending these opportunities to more students in the future. Kim Dong-ho, head of the RISE project at SeoulTech, emphasized the importance of providing practical semiconductor training not only to SeoulTech students but also to students from regional universities, aligning with the project's mission.
