The Nigerian Army has recently announced a change in the schedule for the Screening and Verification Exercise aimed at children of deceased soldiers under its Education Sponsorship Scheme. Initially set to take place from February 2 to March 6, the exercise has been postponed and will now run from February 9 to March 13, 2026, across Nigeria. The announcement was made through a statement from Major Yemi Sokoya, the Assistant Director of Public Relations at Headquarters 13 Brigade. The statement further clarifies that for beneficiaries within the 82 Division area, the screening will occur at Headquarters 82 Division in Enugu from February 14 to 17, 2026. The Army has made it clear that all stakeholders, especially eligible beneficiaries from Cross River State, need to adhere to these new dates for participation in the event.
