Among wet t-shirts, food, and good wishes, students from preschool to seventh grade say goodbye to the school year in Guayaquil

Students from preschool to seventh grade in Guayaquil officially wrap up their school year and begin their vacations, with final exams completed despite the general academic calendar still being in effect.

On February 10th, students from preschool to seventh grade in several private schools in Guayaquil finished their academic year, marking the end of classes with the completion of final exams. This year's closure occurs even though the general educational calendar is not yet complete, as students transition into their vacation period. The last day saw young students actively participating in their final assessments before some of them prepare for supplementary exams due to unsatisfactory results.

At the Unidad Educativa Particular La Dolorosa, located in the Kennedy Vieja neighborhood, the day was filled with the hustle of students from first grade through seventh as they gathered for their final evaluations. The school's principal, Isabel Carabajo, indicated that this day signifies the end of regular academic activities for the school year, with a total enrollment of 87 students. Those who did not achieve necessary passing marks are required to attend supplementary classes, while the remaining students are ready to enjoy their break.

This transition is celebrated with a festivity of sorts, with students sharing food and good wishes, although formal graduation ceremonies were not held this year. The event highlights the importance of education in the community, especially for younger students, and reflects on the joy that accompanies the start of their well-deserved vacations after months of hard work in their academic pursuits.
