Sesc Petrolina and Araripina hold Carnival programming starting this Thursday (12)

Sesc will host free Carnival events in Petrolina and Araripina, Pernambuco, featuring music, dance, and cultural activities for all ages.

Sesc in Petrolina is set to kick off its Carnival celebrations this Thursday at 5 PM in the Praça do Bambuzinho, offering a free pre-Carnival event that includes dance lessons and performances of frevo. The festivities are supported by the local Chamber of Shopkeepers and will feature DJ Werson playing upbeat axé music along with live rhythms from the Maracatu Baque Opará, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with music and dance.

In Araripina, the Carnival programming will begin on Friday (13) with a family-friendly parade encompassing the city's major streets. The parade will include performances from frevo groups and giant puppets, accompanied by the sounds of the Ribinha Ribeiro Frevo Orchestra. Participants are invited to gather at 6 PM in Praça Dr. Pedro, where the festivities will commence with a vibrant display of music and cultural heritage.

The celebrations will continue through Sunday (15) at Sesc Ler Araripina, where a day full of activities is dedicated to younger audiences, reinforcing the inclusion of families in Carnival festivities. These events aim to engage the local community in cultural experiences, fostering joy and togetherness during the festive season.
