Petrolina Carnival: see the schedule for this Tuesday
Petrolina's Carnival in Pernambuco concludes on Tuesday, featuring various festivities and waste management efforts to maintain cleanliness during the celebrations.
The Petrolina Carnival, located in the Sertão of Pernambuco, is set to conclude on Tuesday, February 17. The festivities officially began on Saturday, February 14, and have brought together revelers across three main venues: Pierrot at the waterfront, Colombina at Praça 21 de Setembro, and Arlequim at Multicultural Matingueiros. The event has not only focused on entertainment but also on ensuring a clean environment, as approximately seven tons of waste have been collected from the celebration areas during the first three nights of the carnival.
To maintain cleanliness and organization, the Public Security Secretary has mobilized a task force throughout the carnival circuit and areas designated for portable restrooms. This effort underscores the commitment to public health and the well-being of the attendees during the celebrations. The teams have also conducted thorough washing of the surroundings, reflecting a proactive approach to safeguarding public spaces in Petrolina.
As the carnival festivities continue into the final day, attendees can look forward to a packed program, with highlights at the Pierrot venue starting at 7:30 PM. The involvement of local authorities in managing and maintaining the celebration venues emphasizes the importance of balancing fun with responsibility, ensuring that the joy of the carnival is preserved without compromising the cleanliness of the city.
