Sesc's Viradão: Petrolina offers programming with leisure, culture, and sports activities

The fifth edition of Sesc's Viradão in Petrolina, Brazil, features a variety of activities aimed at promoting leisure, education, culture, and sports over three days.

The fifth edition of the Viradão do Sesc began on Friday, October 13, in Petrolina, located in the Sertão region of Pernambuco, Brazil. The event is organized by the local Sesc unit and aims to provide a diverse program spanning three days, focusing on leisure, education, culture, and sports for the community. Initial activities kick off with experimental classes in Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Theater, and Literature designed specifically for children and teenagers.

In addition to artistic classes, the program includes a recreational marathon for students and focuses on women's health with fitness classes and health advice, which requires a donation of one kilogram of food for entry. These initiatives aim to promote physical well-being and health awareness in the community. Moreover, a roundtable discussion titled "The Social Role of Libraries in the Community" will be hosted, alongside a Yoga session, both accessible with a similar food donation, emphasizing community engagement and cultural enrichment.

The event will culminate with a performance by the singer Flávio Leandro at 8 PM, aimed at drawing a larger audience with ticket prices set at R$25 for commercial workers and R$50 for the general public. The Viradão is designed to enrich the local community through a mix of educational and recreational activities, thus fostering social connections and cultural appreciation among residents of Petrolina.
