A memorial plaque honoring Gunars Janovskis, a notable Latvian writer, was unveiled on Kalnciema Street, marking a significant tribute to his literary contributions. The event unexpectedly saw the presence of artist Jānis Straupe, whose ancestors were involved in the construction of the building where the plaque is placed. This building is recognized as one of the architectural gems of wooded architecture in the nearby Pārdaugava region. The unveiling ceremony was part of a literary walk that aimed to explore Janovskis's childhood haunts, led by literature researcher Ingun Daukste-Silasproģe from the museum.
