Man and two young men arrested with drugs in Barra Mansa
A 33-year-old man and two young men were arrested for drug possession in Barra Mansa, Brazil, after police discovered them in an abandoned property believed to be a drug dealing point.
In Barra Mansa, Brazil, a 33-year-old man and two young men, aged 23 and 19, were apprehended by police on Monday, October 9, for possession of illegal drugs. The arrests occurred in the GetΓΊlio Vargas neighborhood following a tip-off about an abandoned property suspected of being used as a drug sales point. Upon their arrival, law enforcement located the three suspects inside the premises, where a significant amount of drugs was found.
The police seized a total of 671 capsules of cocaine, 28 small bags of marijuana, R$ 40 in cash, three mobile phones, and two two-way radios. Furthermore, during the apprehension, one of the young suspects attempted to evade capture by jumping down a steep embankment. In the ensuing chase, a police officer also fell alongside the suspect, leading to a confrontation in which the suspect tried to seize the officer's firearm. In a defensive response, the officer discharged his weapon, though fortunately, no one sustained injuries from this incident.
All three individuals were subsequently taken to the Barra Mansa police station, where the events were officially reported. They face charges for drug trafficking and being part of a drug trafficking association, highlighting ongoing concerns about drug-related crime in the area and the authorities' response to combat this issue.
