Laak won silver at the Polish cup championships
Kertu Laak and her team finished as runners-up in the Polish cup championships after a series of competitive matches.
Estonian volleyball player Kertu Laak showcased her skills at the Polish cup championships, where she played for Bostik's women's team in Bielsko-Biala. In the semifinals, her team delivered a strong performance, defeating Kalisz with a clean sweep of 3-0. Laak contributed significantly to this victory, scoring 10 points with a notable positive impact on the game. However, in the finals against Pudowlani Lodz, Bostik faced a challenging match and were unable to secure the championship title, losing 0-3 despite Laak's five points scored.
In addition to the cup matches, Laak's team also participated in the CEV Cup but had a disappointing result, losing to the Italian club Chieri in the round of 16. Laak's contributions in that match were minimal, scoring only three points. This series of events highlights both the competitive nature of volleyball in Poland and the rising prominence of Estonian players in international leagues.
Meanwhile, other Estonian players like Caterina Cicetti and Mirjam Karoliine Kask also participated in the cup finals in Slovakia, playing for Uniza Žilina. They experienced a close match, ultimately losing 2-3 to Slavia EUBAlt. This continues to reflect the ongoing engagement and achievements of Estonian volleyball players abroad, emphasizing the importance of international competitions in enhancing their skills and experience.
