On Sunday, a significant event titled "Não é Não – Bloco da Mulherada" took place at the Centro Cultural Feso ProArte in Teresópolis, Brazil. This initiative focused on women, attracting approximately 40 participants who engaged in a free self-defense class. The event was organized with the aim of raising awareness about violence prevention and enhancing women's autonomy, particularly critical during the Carnival season when issues of safety can be heightened.

The self-defense workshop was led by Rodrigo Felippe, a certified instructor affiliated with the Federal Police, who is also responsible for the Sentinelas project in Teresópolis. Participants were taught essential self-defense techniques, prevention strategies, and safe escape methods. Simulations of real-life scenarios were conducted to equip the attendees with practical skills that could potentially help them avoid and respond to dangerous situations in their daily lives.

The event was conceptualized by activist Giovanna Venture, highlighting the community's commitment to promoting safety and empowerment among women. Given the cultural context of Brazil and the ongoing discussions about women's safety, this gathering not only addressed immediate self-defense needs but also fostered a sense of solidarity and support among women within the community, emphasizing the importance of empowerment and awareness in the face of societal challenges.
