Driver transporting cocaine from Rondônia to São Paulo arrested on BR-070 in MT

On Sunday, a 45-year-old driver was apprehended by police in Cuiabá while transporting 44 kilograms of cocaine. The arrest was part of an operation conducted by the Special Border Group (Gefron) and the Military Police's ROTAM, which targeted a truck suspected of having cloned plates. Upon inspection, officers detected a strong smell of narcotics and discovered 40 bricks of cocaine hidden within the vehicle.
According to local police reports, the driver revealed that he had picked up the cocaine in Pimenta Bueno, Rondônia, and was en route to São José do Rio Preto in São Paulo. The operation not only resulted in the arrest of the individual but also in the seizure of the truck he used to transport the drugs, leading to an estimated loss of R$ 1.25 million to criminal factions involved in the drug trade.
