On Tuesday afternoon, a man was arrested for drug trafficking after being found with over 750 kilograms of narcotics in his vehicle on the SP-294 highway in Marília, São Paulo. The arrest occurred during a police operation known as Impacto, which was conducted in conjunction with the Integrated Force Against Organized Crime in São Paulo (FICCO-SP). At the time of the stop near kilometer 452, officers discovered 782 bricks of marijuana weighing a total of 751.3 kg, as well as an additional brick of crack weighing 1.05 kg, all hidden in various packages inside the car.

The police stated that the driver did not have any prior criminal record, which adds a layer of complexity to the case as it suggests that he may have been acting as a courier rather than a traditional trafficker. The incident highlights ongoing issues with drug trafficking in Brazil, particularly in regions like São Paulo where organized crime remains a significant challenge.
