Government extends validity of the 1st edition of the CNU and expands deadline for calling approved candidates
The Brazilian government has extended the validity of the first edition of the Unified National Competition (CNU) by an additional year, allowing more time for calling approved candidates for federal public service positions.
The Brazilian Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) has officially announced a one-year extension to the validity of the first edition of the Unified National Competition (CNU), which is often referred to as the 'Enem of Public Competitions.' This decision was made public in a notice published on Thursday in the Official Gazette, indicating a significant move to ensure fair and timely recruitment for public service roles in the federal government.
By prolonging the validity, the federal government now has an additional 12 months to make new convocations from the list of approved candidates. For positions that do not require specific training, the new expiration date has been set for March 6, 2027, in alignment with the homologation process that took place on March 7, 2025. Meanwhile, positions requiring specialized training or didactic assessments will have varied new validity periods based on the final homologation results for those specific roles.
This extension is crucial for many candidates who have prepared for the CNU, as it allows for greater opportunities to secure positions within the federal public service. It reflects the government's commitment to a structured selection process and addresses concerns regarding the timely hiring of qualified personnel in various public sectors.
