The municipality of Ventspils has confirmed an allocation of 3 million euros to fund a variety of initiatives proposed by its residents, focusing specifically on enhancing community involvement and local projects. This initiative is part of the citizen initiative budget, which aims to promote the realization of ideas put forth by community members, associations, and various groups, thereby encouraging civic participation within the local governance framework.

This year's budget encompasses significant investments in the education sector, including over 400,000 euros earmarked for the renovation of playground equipment and rubber surfaces in preschool educational institutions. In addition, the budget supports the purchase of educational materials and services such as those of psychologists and specialists for preschoolers, as well as the organization of summer camps. These measures are intended to improve the learning environment for young children and provide additional resources for their development.

Moreover, the allocation includes social initiatives aimed at integrating specific groups within society, such as seniors, individuals with disabilities, and children and youth. Collaborative efforts with 13 associations will facilitate targeted activities and projects that enhance inclusivity and community support. This comprehensive approach not only enhances the quality of life for various community members but also reinforces the role of municipal governance in fostering a supportive community environment.
