Nafpaktos: Minor arrested again for drug trafficking to students
A drug trafficking ring in Nafpaktos has been dismantled, leading to the arrest of three men, including a minor who was allegedly preparing to distribute drugs to fellow students during a school trip.
Authorities in Nafpaktos have successfully dismantled a drug trafficking network operating in the area. During a police operation, three men were arrested, comprising two Greeks and one foreign national, who are charged with forming a criminal organization and drug trafficking. The foreign national was reported to have transported cannabis and cocaine from Athens to Nafpaktos, conducting sales to individuals in the local community while hiding the drugs in the home of one of his accomplices.
Most notably, the investigation revealed that one of the arrested individuals, a high school student, colluded with an unidentified partner to obtain narcotics with plans to distribute them to his peers on a five-day school trip. This student's involvement underscores a concerning trend of drug accessibility among minors, raising alarms about the need for prevention measures in educational institutions and the community at large.
The arrests follow earlier incidents, including a prior arrest of the same minor for drug-related offenses, indicating a possible ongoing issue with youth and drug culture in the area. Local authorities are now focusing on measures to curb this trend and ensure the safety and well-being of students as they confront the challenges posed by illicit drug use and trafficking in schools.
