They were trafficking cocaine, cannabis, and MDMA in Attica
Three individuals have been arrested in Athens and Piraeus for possession and trafficking of drugs following a police operation.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, three suspects—a 38-year-old man, a 34-year-old man, and a 32-year-old woman—were apprehended in Piraeus and Athens by the Narcotics Division of the Organized Crime Division. This operation stemmed from gathered intelligence regarding drug trafficking activities in the vicinity of the Zografou University campus and the greater Attica region, which prompted extensive police actions including verification of information and profiling of the suspects.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the 34-year-old suspect had procured cocaine from the 38-year-old on behalf of the 32-year-old woman last Tuesday afternoon in the Zografou area. Following this, police launched an operation to halt their drug-related activities, which included searches of their residences, a vehicle, and a stash location used by the 38-year-old.
The case highlights ongoing efforts by Greek law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in urban areas, particularly in educational contexts. This incident reflects a broader trend targeting organized crime and emphasizes the importance of community intelligence in policing efforts to address substance abuse and related criminal activities.
