Latvia Post dedicates a stamp to the centenary of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra

Latvia Post has released a commemorative stamp celebrating the centenary of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, designed by artist Krišs Salmanis.

Latvia Post has launched a special stamp to commemorate the centenary of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO). The design, created by artist Krišs Salmanis, incorporates the sound logo designed by composer Edgars Mākenas, symbolizing the orchestra's rich history and contemporary achievements. The stamp will be issued in a limited run of 10,000 copies, with a nominal value of 3.00 euros, alongside a specially designed envelope in a run of 500 copies.

Andris Puriņš, a board member of Latvia Post, expressed pride in being part of the LNSO's centenary story, emphasizing how this stamp serves to connect the past with the present and inspire future accomplishments. He highlighted the importance of both the postal service and the orchestra in promoting Latvia's name internationally, albeit through different forms of expression. The stamp is the first of its kind to honor the LNSO's milestone and represents a significant cultural contribution.

The new stamp will be available for purchase at customer service centers in major cities, as well as in post offices and Latvia Post's online store. The cancellation of the first day will take place on February 12 at the Congress Hall in Riga from 12 PM to 4 PM. In its centenary season, the orchestra will make its home at the Riga Congress Hall, continuing its mission to enrich Latvia's cultural landscape and foster national pride.
