Mayor Evelyn Parra led a community effort to restore and maintain Felipe Ángeles Park and surrounding neighborhoods, engaging over a thousand municipal workers in a cleanup initiative.
Evelyn Parra, the Mayor of Venustiano Carranza, spearheaded a community effort, known as a 'tequio', aimed at restoring and maintaining Felipe Ángeles Park as well as nearby neighborhoods including Valle Gómez, Popular Rastro, and Nicolás Bravo. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve public spaces within the urban environment. The project witnessed participation from more than a thousand municipal workers who, regardless of their ranks, joined forces to rehabilitate public areas, demonstrating a collective commitment to the welfare of the local residents.
During the community push, Mayor Parra oversaw various activities that included painting, road marking, and an extensive cleaning operation which successfully removed 16 tons of waste from both the park and adjacent neighborhoods. This not only enhanced the urban landscape but also worked towards preventing possible health hazards associated with litter and debris. The initiative reinforces the local government's dedication to maintaining clean and safe public spaces for the community.
Furthermore, the efforts also extended to the repair of public lighting in the area, which aims to improve safety and accessibility for residents, particularly during evening hours. The coordinated activities highlight the importance of community engagement and government collaboration in fostering a more livable urban environment, indicating a proactive approach by the local administration to address the maintenance of public infrastructure and the quality of life for its residents.
