On Wednesday, Manuel Velasco, the coordinator of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM), visited the National Palace for nearly two hours as part of discussions between the Mexican government and allied parties from Morena regarding an electoral reform initiative. The former governor of Chiapas arrived before noon and entered through access number eight on Corregidora Street, leaving the premises around 2 PM without making any statements.
During his visit, he was accompanied by key officials including Rosa Icela Rodríguez, the Secretary of the Interior, and Rocío Bárcena, the Undersecretary for Democratic Development, Social Participation, and Religious Affairs. Both officials also left the National Palace around the same time, indicating a significant meeting with important figures in the Mexican government aimed at shaping future electoral processes.
Earlier in the day, Velasco was seen at the Senate of the Republic, where he showed support for Ruth González, wife of the Governor of San Luis Potosí, Ricardo Gallardo, thus highlighting his active role in regional politics. This meeting underscores ongoing political maneuvers by the PVEM and its allies to influence upcoming electoral reforms and strengthen their positions within the current political landscape in Mexico.
